List of experiment:-

experiment No :- (1) spring mass oscillator

  Aim:

To determine the force of constant K of a given spring.

Apparatus :

light spiral spring with clamping  arrangement and attached to the pointer, metre, scale, Hanger, weight box ,stopwatch.

Procedure:

1:- weight the Hanger and determine the mass of Hanger (M°).

2:- clamp the given spiral spring to regarded support and attached to the Hanger with pointer at its lower end.

3:-add a  suitable mass  to the Hanger so that spring is stretched to about triple of the the understated  length it is each turn of spring will be the free from each other.

4:- note down total mass attached to the spring (M) and also note on the reading (S°) it is means position of a scale according to the position of pointer.

5:- add one slotted weight of 50 gram in the Hanger and know the position of pointer say S. repeat the procedure twice by adding weights in steps  of 50 gram.
(m is more than M).

6:- remove Weights  from the Hanger and bring the pointer to its mean position S°. take 3 reading by reducing weight in steps of 50 grams. (m less than M).

7:- determine the extension (S°-S)i= x in        each case.

8:- plot the graph of F against X and determine the slope of the graph slope of the graph is force constant (K).

9:- calculate the potential energy (1/2kxsqr.)for each volume of extension X and Plot the graph of potential energy against extension x.

Observations:

1:- mass of hanger (m°):- ..........

2:- mass attached to the hanger =m1 = ........g,so that spring get stretches to about people of it and stretchable and therefore total marks attached to M = (m1+m° )=.........g

3:- position of pointer when the spring is stretched to abort triple of Under unstructured length S°= .............cm.

Result:

1:- force constant of a given spring (K)= .............dyne/cm.

2:- mass of a given spring (Ms)from the graph of Tsqr. against M= .........g.

3:- the the graph shows that potential energy of oscillator change with distance x from the equilibrium the nature of the graph is parabolic.

Precautions:

1:- record the mean position of pointer carefully.
2:- oscillations of the spring mass oscillator should be in vertical plane.
3:- the pointer should move freely over the scale such that it should not touch the scale.
4:- spiral spring should not be stretched beyond the elastic limit.

Question:

Q1. What are damped oscillation?

Answer:- oscillation gradually decreases amplitude are called damped oscillation oscillation of a system in the prevents of of descriptive potential force are Damped.

Q2:- Define linear S.H.M.?

Answer:- simple harmonic motion(SHM)  is is the linear parodic motion of a body.the  restoring force (on oscillation) is always directed toward the mean position and its magnitude is directly proportional to the displacement to  the mean position.

Q3:- what are forced oscillation?

Answer:- the oscillation in which a body oscillates under the influence of external potential force are known as forced oscillation .
Q4:- define force constant?
Answer:- dear student you have to tell yourself to me  answer of this question.

Notice:

You have to fill (..............)the blank which I have  left. according to your college reading.  like that all experiment you have  done with the help of above experiment and you have also done  your activity like that.

Exp.(2):- Newton's law of cooling.
Exp.(3):- sonometer 1 law of length.
Exp.(4):- sonometer 2 law of length.
Exp.(5):- resonance tube.
Exp.(6):- law of resistance using metre                            Bridge.
Exp.(7):-register and Galvanometer by K method.

LIST OF ACTIVITIES:-
1:- second pendulum.
2:- melds experiment.
3:- fector affecting the rate of loss of heat of        a liquid.
4:- variation of a potential drop.
5:-use of multimeter.
